Vetoproof EC762

Low-viscous, solvent-free, epoxy coal tar-based protective and waterproofing coating.

Vetoproof EC762 is a high-performance, two-component, solvent-free epoxy coal tar-based coating specifically formulated with a low-viscous composition for superior penetration and adhesion. Designed for use on concrete and metal substrates, this advanced coating provides long-lasting waterproofing and chemical resistance. Once cured, Vetoproof EC762 forms a dense, protective layer that enhances structural longevity, making it ideal for a variety of industrial and marine applications.

Uses

  • Waterproofing of tanks, pipelines, and marine structures.
  • Internal and external protection of wastewater and clean water facilities.
  • Lining of manholes and concrete containment areas.
  • Corrosion prevention on steel and reinforced concrete surfaces.
  • Coating underground structures such as canals, foundations, and water passages.

Advantages

  • Low-viscosity formulation effectively fills pores and penetrates surface textures.
  • Resistant to abrasion, impact, and corrosion.
  • Does not support the growth of algae or bacteria.
  • Doesn’t require priming.
  • Maintains adhesion even under submerged conditions.
  • Easy to mix and apply with brush, roller, or airless spray.
  • Cures into a dense, hard, and long-lasting protective film.
  • Strong adhesion to various substrates including concrete, metal, wood, and stone.

Usage Instructions

Ensure that the application surface is clean, sound, and free from contaminants such as dust, grease, and laitance. Surface preparation by mechanical means such as grinding or blasting is recommended for a well-profiled rough surface. Any voids or irregularities should be repaired using Vetorep ER350 or another suitable epoxy repair mortar. New concrete floors should be at least 28 days old with a moisture content of less than 5% (shall earlier application be required, test of substrate for moisture conditions). Grit blast steel substrates to surface quality SA21⁄2 (BS 4232:Second Quality). The application process should take place within 2 to 4 hours after blasting.

Vetoproof EC762 is supplied as a two-component system with Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) pre-measured in fixed weight proportions and ready to be mixed on-site for application. Pre-stir Part A (resin) to reintegrate any slight separation within the container. Gradually add Part B (hardener) to Part A while stirring. Use a heavy-duty, slow-speed electric mixer (300-600 RPM) with a drill-fitted suitable paddle, and thoroughly mix for 3 minutes, ensuring complete dispersion of the hardener throughout the resin. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container periodically to ensure uniform consistency.

Apply the mixed material to the prepared surface using a brush, lambs-wool roller, or airless spray. For spray applications, the nozzle must be suitable for coatings with a maximum particle size of 100 microns. Ensure complete coverage without gaps or thin areas. Pot life of the mixture is approximately 45 minutes at 25°C, but this can decrease in warmer conditions and increase in cooler temperatures. Apply the coating within the pot life period. Once applied, the surface must be protected from water, rain, and freezing temperatures during the curing process.

Allow the coating to cure for 7 days before exposing it to chemical or mechanical loads. Avoid contact with moisture or water during this time.

Remove Vetoproof EC762 from tools and equipment with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Remove hardened material mechanically.
