Vetonit Cool Top

Single component liquid applied flexible hybrid roof waterproofing membrane.

Vetonit Cool Top is a single-component cold liquid-applied elastomeric waterborne hybrid polyurethane-acrylic roof waterproofing membrane. The product is white in color with a high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) that ensures better thermal roof insulation. Vetonit Cool Top has a high resistance to yellowing, and color fading, as well as excellent dirt pick-up resistance.

Uses

  • Waterproofing and protection of exposed concrete roofs and roof decks.
  • Waterproofing of corrugated sheets and sloped roofs.
  • Protecting spray polyurethane foam insulations from UV rays.
  • Exposed roofs with many details and complex geometry.
  • New construction and refurbishment of exposed roofing systems.

Advantages

  • High solar reflectance contributes to improved energy efficiency and reduced cooling costs.
  • High elasticity and crack bridging capability.
  • Single-component and easy to apply.
  • UV, color and weather stable.
  • Suitable for sloped roof applications.
  • Easy to maintain.
  • Excellent dirt pick-up resistance.
  • Resists impact damage and foot traffic.
  • Excellent solution for small and complex roofs.

Usage Instructions

All surfaces should be dry and free from contamination, such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss algal growth, laitance, and all traces of mold release oils and curing compounds. This is best achieved by lightly gritblasting the surface. Where moss, algae, or similar growths have occurred, treatment with a proprietary biocide should be carried out after the grit-blasting process. Spalled and deeply disintegrated concrete should be removed to sound concrete and repaired with a Saveto repair system.

Concrete substrates should be at least 14 days old. As for the bituminous membrane rolls, they should be used after removing the polyethylene film immediately before painting with Vetonit Cool Top.

Apply Vetonit Cool Top by brush, roller or airless spray equipment. For highly porous substrates, a primer coat shall be prepared by diluting Vetonit Cool Top with clean water at a ratio of 70:30 (Vetonit Cool Top : water) and applied uniformly to the substrate. Allow the primer coat to dry completely before applying the first coat. Apply the first coat of Vetonit Cool Top and allow it to cure for 4–12 hours, depending on ambient temperature and relative humidity.

Apply the second coat perpendicular to the first coat.

It is recommended for heavy pedestrian traffic to use polyester fleece reinforcement, embedded firmly in the second coat while wet, and a third coat should be applied.

Remove Vetonit Cool Top product from tools, equipment, and mixers with clean water before the initial set. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
