All substrates must be clean, sound, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, grease, curing compounds, laitance, loose particles, and previous coatings that may affect adhesion.
Concrete must be fully cured (minimum 28 days at 21°C) and mechanically prepared by shot blasting, grinding, or equivalent approved methods to achieve a clean, profiled surface with a minimum surface roughness of CSP 4–5, as per ICRI guidelines.
Cracks, holes, and surface irregularities must be repaired using appropriate repair systems from the Vetorep product range prior to priming. After mechanical preparation, the surface must be vacuum-cleaned to remove all residual dust and debris.
Moisture content must be checked using an impedancetype moisture meter (ASTM F2659) and should not exceed 5% by weight. Application must not proceed until substrate conditions are within the specified limits
Vetoprime MP367 is a two-component system comprising Part A (base) and Part B (hardener). Measure and mix the components according to the specified ratios, which vary depending on ambient temperature. Stir individual components for consistency. Pour the required amount of Part A into a clean, dry container. Add the appropriate quantity of Part B and mix thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical mixer (300–400 rpm) for 1–2 minutes until a uniform, streak-free consistency is achieved. Avoid entraining air during mixing. The mixed material must be applied immediately due to the limited pot life of approximately 10–12 minutes at 20°C.
Apply Vetoprime MP367 directly to the prepared substrate in controlled batches. Use a 9” or 18” solvent-resistant roller with a 3/8” nap to evenly distribute the material at a typical coverage rate of 4.0 – 6.0 m2/L. Ensure thorough saturation of all surface irregularities, cracks, and pores to achieve complete bonding. Use a paintbrush to access corners, edges, and confined areas. Avoid pooling or excessive build-up; back-roll as necessary to ensure a continuous, uniform film. Work efficiently and avoid delays during application due to the short pot life.
Vetoprime MP367 cures rapidly under typical site conditions. At 20°C, the applied primer will achieve full cure within 60 minutes. Recoating or overlaying may proceed after 60–90 minutes, depending on ambient conditions and substrate temperature. Ensure adequate ventilation during the curing process and protect the primed surface from dust, moisture, or mechanical disturbance until fully cured.
All tools should be cleaned with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
