Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz
High performance synthetic quartz filler for decorative flooring systems.
Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz is a high-quality, oven-dried synthetic quartz filler designed for use in decorative and functional flooring systems. It provides excellent mechanical reinforcement, slip resistance, and aesthetic texture when used with Vetotop DecoFloor Binder in broadcast or troweled applications. Ideal for interior and exterior systems requiring durability, color uniformity, and a seamless finish.

Uses
- Broadcast systems to enhance slip resistance and texture.
- Trowel-applied screeds for added mechanical strength.
- Seamless flooring in industrial, commercial, and public areas.
- Decorative finishes in showrooms, retail spaces, and lobbies.
- Interior and exterior resin-based flooring applications.
Advantages
- Wide range of customizable color blends with rich decorative effects, modern appearance, and elegant texture.
- High strength and brittleness with outstanding wear, impact, and stress resistance when used in flooring systems.
- Chemically inert; resistant to most acids, alkalis, and solvents.
- High UV stability; does not discolor easily.
- Excellent thermal stability.
- Cost-effective.
- Easy to handle.
Usage Instructions
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, curing compounds, coatings, or any surface contaminants that may affect adhesion. Any high spots should be removed by mechanical grinding, and all loose or friable material must be thoroughly eliminated using vacuuming and/or brushing.
The concrete substrate must be structurally sound with a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm2 and a pull-off strength of at least 1.5 N/mm2.
Proper surface preparation is critical to ensure optimal bonding and long-term performance of Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz with Vetotop DecoFloor Binder.
Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz is used as a filler component in combination with a suitable epoxy binder such as Vetotop DecoFloor Binder. After thoroughly mixing Part A and Part B of the binder, the Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz shall be added gradually in the required ratio while mixing is continued using a forced-action mixer (pan or paddle type). Mixing should proceed until a uniform, lump-free, and homogenous consistency is achieved. Avoid over-mixing to minimize air entrapment. The typical binder-to-quartz filler ratio varies depending on the application (e.g., broadcast vs. trowel application) and should be defined based on system requirements and site conditions. Typically for slurry applications, use a 1:1 ratio of binder to quartz filler; for wearing courses, use a 1:5-6 ratio.
The mixed binder and Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz shall be applied over a properly prepared and primed substrate. For broadcast systems, the mixed binder is first applied uniformly using a roller or notched trowel, followed immediately by broadcasting the Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz to excess onto the wet surface.
For trowel-applied screeds, the binder-quartz filler mixture is spread and compacted to the desired thickness using steel trowels or appropriate screeding tools.
Once cured, any excess quartz from broadcast applications shall be removed by vacuuming or sweeping before applying the seal coat. Application must be carried out under controlled environmental conditions, with substrate temperature at least 3°C above dew point and relative humidity below 80%.
Curing times depend on ambient conditions such as temperature and humidity. At +20°C, Vetotop DecoFloor Binder and Vetotop DecoFloor Quartz system is typically touch-dry within 12 hours, can receive light foot traffic after approximately 24 hours, and reaches full mechanical and chemical resistance after 7 days.
All tools should be cleaned with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
